The Dene Farm partnership with Burr and Burton Academy has hired two students and three 2017 graduates to work at the farm for its second growing season of the year. We have two rising seniors, Bryan Emery and Nick Williams. Our alumni hires are Emet Koffman, Ann Fisher, and Jennie Mull. They will be attending the University of Vermont, Mt. Holyoke College, and Warren Wilson College respectively in the fall of 17'.

Recent additions to the farm include the BBA production garden intended for supplying the school cafeteria with potatoes, tomatoes, and beets in higher quantities than the previous season. We've doubled the potato production, increasing our yield to 600 pounds! We're fundraising for a new classroom space located directly on the farm, purely for BBA students. The Dene Farm employees continue to attend the Manchester Farmer's Market, selling micro-greens and spreading awareness about the program. The farm is expanding to accommodate animals by building a new barn and we're looking forward to be getting sheep! We're having an excellent summer and we're excited to be supplying Burr and Burton Academy with locally grown produce from just down the road.
